So, my beautiful children of the Underdark, I must confess something. For almost a year or so now, I had largely fallen out of my habit of actually reading other horror novels and such. It wasn't that I wasn't interested, so to speak, but simply put, I'd put so much time and effort into ONLY crafting terrifying gospels of my own that I'd found myself falling out of touch with what I saw many other fellow authors and readers alike were talking about, as well as forgetting the joy I used to have actually reading things like Barker, King, and especially Lovecraft.
So a couple of months ago, I attempted to reignite this interest with a book I'd picked up a while back, Cassandra Khaw's "Nothing But Blackened Teeth", which I've actually written my own personal thoughts on -- and I plan to share here at a later point in time. Currently, I am trying to finish what I started way back then with my personal favorite horror author, Clive Barker's "The Damnation Game".
I share this for two reasons. The first is to ask fellow macabre scribes if this problem is a prevalent one with them as well, writing so much of your own stories that you find yourself losing the time for other's work? The second is for my personal disciples, to ask what you all may think I should read next?
